Welcome to my LEO review!
I have recently discovered another online survey panel called LEO – Leger Opinion (former LegerWeb)
The company has been rewarding panelists since 2004 through the website and built a strong reputation over the years.
In the past, people complained that they couldn’t take surveys from the phone.
So, in early 2019, they finally came up with the LEO mobile application, which is now available on Android and iOS devices.
In this review, I am going to explain how LEO works and give you my honest opinion about it. Is it the best survey panel in Canada?
Let’s find out

What is LEO?
LEO is a survey panel operated by a Canadian marketing research company called Leger Marketing.
The panel was formerly known as LegerWeb, but in 2019, the company decided to rebrand it to Leger Opinion (LEO).
Every year, Leger Marketing conducts over 500 marketing studies and rewards thousands of panelists for their opinions.
As a member, you have to opportunity to earn Leger Points for answering surveys in a wide range of topics.
When you reach the minimum threshold, you can withdraw the money via PayPal, gift cards, and many other payment methods.
Members can also enter monthly contests for a chance to win great prizes!
Most surveys are targeted at Canadian residents, but Americans can also apply and receive survey invitations.
Pros and Cons
- The payout is quite high compared to other panels.
- Most surveys are short.
- You can complete surveys on the go via the LEO app.
- There are many payment methods to choose from including PayPal, Visa, and cheque.
- It takes a long time to cash out.
- Some surveys don’t work on the app.
- Contests are only open for Canadians.
- There are very few surveys for Americans.
How Does LEO Work?
If you want to participate, you have to create a free account first.
After signing up, you will receive an email with an activation link.
It’s very important that you click on this confirmation link so you can receive more survey invitations.
LEO Points & Rewards
Once you have 20,000 LEO points, you can redeem for $20 via PayPal, Cheque, Visa, Starbucks, Tim Hortons or Aeroplan.
Alternatively, you can redeem 10,000 points for 20 Air Miles.
If you redeem via PayPal, you can expect to receive the payment within 10 days.
Cheques are mailed to Canadian residents and take approximately 7 weeks to arrive.
After signing up and completing your profile, you will have access to a list of surveys.
If you are using the LEO app, you will receive a push notification with a summary of all the surveys available.
You will also get an email invitation as soon as a new survey becomes available.
Bear in mind that some partner surveys are still not adapted to the app version.
So, I advise you to log in through the website to apply for more studies!
LEO will let you know the number of points and the approximate survey duration.
Most surveys take 10 – 20 minutes to complete and typically award 100 points (0.10) per minute.
On average, you can expect to earn $1 – $2 per survey and $6/hour.
There are also longer surveys and even focus groups that pay up to $35.
If you live in Canada, you can expect to receive 1 or 2 invitations per day, but there are days when you won’t get any surveys.
On SurveyPolice, one panelist from Canada said he reached $20 after 2 months.
The number of opportunities in the US is significantly lower!
One US resident said he made only $10 after 18 months!
As you may know, some surveys are targeted at very specific audiences.
For example, LEO may be conducting studies with a group of people who use a specific brand of mobile phone. Let’s say iPhone!
In that case, everyone who uses another smartphone will not qualify.
Unfortunately, you won’t qualify for every survey and therefore, you will waste a lot of time answering screening questions.
If you get disqualified, you will still receive only 10 points or $0.01.
When you take surveys, you will also get entries to participate in the $1,000, $500 and $250 monthly draw.
The more surveys you complete, the more your chances of winning.
Keep in mind that contests are only open in Canada.
Refer your Friends
Another way to make money with LEO is to invite your friends.
You will earn 1,000 points ($1) for every friend that uses your code and completes the first survey.
If you have a blog with the possibility to refer lots of people, you can get a better deal.
In that case, you will have to contact Leger Opinion for more information.
LEO (Leger Opinion) is a legitimate and reputable survey panel for Canadians and Americans.
But in my opinion, there are better survey sites for Canadians such as Prolific Academic and Survey Junkie.
The pay rate is excellent compared to other sites.
However, the earning potential is extremely low because of these two factors:
- There are not many surveys.
- You will probably disqualify in half of them.
Now, because the minimum payout is 20,000 points, it will probably take you a few months to cash out.
Many people don’t have the patience to wait for so long and give up along the way.
There are lots of survey panels and GPT sites where people can cash out $5 or less.
So, it’s possible, and in my opinion, LEO should lower the minimum payout requirement to avoid disappointment.
How To Earn Over $1,000+/mo Working From Home
I used to take surveys back in 2015, so I know how painful it is to reach $20 due to frequent disqualifications.
You can’t rely on surveys to pay the bills. That’s a fact!
Luckily, I discovered a great business model that allows me to work remotely and generate over $1,600 per month.
It’s called affiliate marketing!
With this business model, you can earn great commissions by promoting other people’s products.
As an affiliate, you will provide helpful content and link to trusted products and services. The bigger your audience, the more money you will make!
Keep in mind that you don’t have to create any product nor deal with the orders.
All you have to do is connect potential buyers with online stores or product creators in exchange for commissions.
If people read your content, click through your link and purchase the product, BOOOM, you earn a commission!
If you want to learn how to grow a large audience from scratch and earn a full-time income from home, check out my #1 recommendation.
That’s the exact step by step program that gave me the proper knowledge and tools to grow my online business.
