I was searching for new platforms to make money online in these troubled times when I found Hiving.

Hiving is a French survey panel where members can earn money online by sharing their opinions with brands.

You probably know there are lots of survey panels on the internet, and that many of them are not trustworthy.

I decided to make a thorough research about this panel and give you my honest opinion about it. Is it a Scam or legit site?

What is Hiving?

Hiving a marketing research panel where you can get paid for sharing your opinions about products and services.

You can also get paid to test free products as well as complete micro-tasks.

The panel was launched in 2009 by a French company, and it’s open for residents in 52 countries across the globe.

By answering surveys, you will earn Hiving points that can be converted to cash once you reach 4,000 points ($4 or £4).

As an active member, you may also enter raffles, quizzes and competitions to earn extra points.

Is Hiving a Scam?

I don’t think Hiving is a scam, but…

If you search for user reviews on Survey Police and Trustpilot, you will see lots of complaints!

Hiving has been poorly rated by many panelists who didn’t get paid.

The thing is, these people may have been flagged for providing random answers or breaking rules.

So, it’s a difficult situation because unless you give it a try, you will never know if you will have a positive or bad experience.

How Does Hiving Work?

Registration

You can sign up for free using either your Facebook or email account.

Hiving Reward System

When you complete a survey, you will earn Hiving Points redeemable for cash.

Currently, you can exchange a minimum of 4000 for $4.

Profile Survey – Earn 300 Points

When you log in for, you will see a message on the top encouraging you to complete your first survey and earn 300 points.

This is your profile survey, which consists of 15 questions.

It’s very important that you complete this survey as it will help Hiving determine which marketing studies are suited for you.

Complete Surveys

On the dashboard, there is a list of all the surveys currently available in your country.

Before taking the survey, you will see the reward amount and the estimated length.

As of writing this review, there are 8 surveys in the UK, which is pretty decent compared to other panels.

According to Hiving’s website, the number of survey opportunities you will depend on your profile, but you can expect 1 – 4 survey invitations per month.

In the UK, most studies are paying between 200 and 400 Points (£0.20 – £0.40) and take 4 – 8 minutes to complete.

That is the standard pay rate offered by most marketing research companies.

It’s important to mention that you will also have to answer some screening questions.

And yes, you will get rejected and spend more time than what is stated!

Bear in mind that your points will be pending until the company collects all the surveys needed for the project.

This can take up to 30 days, which is a long time in my opinion.

If you don’t get credited after 30 days, you should get in touch with Hiving via the member’s area.

Some people say they are not responsive, but I can’t confirm that because I haven’t tested their support myself.

Micro-Tasks

Inside Hiving, you can also do micro-tasks through a third-party platform called Figure Eight.

There are many different tasks that don’t require any special skills such as

Categorization
Tagging images
Data entry
Audio transcription
Ad evaluation
And more!

To start working on micro-tasks, you must create a free account with Figure Eight.

Read the task description carefully to avoid mistakes and keep a high accuracy rate.

A high accuracy rate will allow you to access more job opportunities.

How Much Money Can You Make?

It depends on various factors including your profile, the number of opportunities in your country, and the speed at which you complete tasks.

So, it’s possible to reach over $40/mo but it will probably require a lot of time.

Hiving Affiliate Program

Another way to make money is to invite your friends to join Hiving.

All you have to do is copy your affiliate link and share it with others via social media, email, etc.

Whenever someone joins Hiving through your link and completes the first survey, you will earn 600 points.

How Do You Get Paid?

Once you accumulate 4000 credited points, you can request a payment via PayPal.

PayPal is currently the only payment method available now.

Currently, Hiving is experiencing a significant delay in payments, which are taking a few weeks to be processed.

Conclusion

Hiving is another opportunity for people to earn an extra income from home.

There are lots of complaints about payments.

However, I can’t make any judgments based on other people’s experiences.

You should be aware that any survey panel, including Hiving, can cancel your points if they think you have provided random answers.

They can also block your account if you break the terms and conditions, so it’s important to take the time to read the rules before joining.

Survey panels like Hiving can help you make some pocket money, but they don’t pay more than the minimum wage.

Not only that, but you can get disqualified and waste a lot of time only to make a few cents per survey.

In my opinion, there is a much better way to make money online, which is called Affiliate marketing.

The business model consists of providing helpful content and advertising other people’s products.

Not everyone is prepared to put in the effort to make it work. It takes time and perseverance!

But if you decide to follow the less traveled road, it can completely change your life!
