What is SpiderMetrix?

SpiderMetrix is a survey panel operated by an Australia-based company called MicroFlex.

The panel was founded in the year 2000 and is open for residents in 34 countries around the world.

These include the UK, the US, Australia, Brazil, China, Canada, India, and the Philippines.

As a member (spider), you can collect points for participating in marketing research studies via online surveys.

Through online surveys, companies collect valuable information to identify consumer trends and improve their products and services.

Once you have earned enough points, you can redeem for PayPal cash and Amazon gift cards. You can also donate your points or use in Auctions.

Is SpiderMetrix a Scam? Will You Get Paid? 

After thorough research, I concluded that SpiderMetrix is 100% legit.

However, you may not get many survey invitations, especially if you don’t live in Australia.

Therefore, collecting the minimum number of points to cash out can take months or even years!

One user from the USA said that he never cashed out despite using SpiderMetrix for 4 years!

If this person had the initiative to build his own online business during that time, he could be making a full-time income from the internet by now.

How Does SpiderMetrix Work?

Registration

The first step is to create an account, which is free and very straightforward.

You will need to provide your name, email address, postcode, gender, date of birth and country.

You will earn 7 points after you register and log in for the first time.

Point System 

When you fill up a survey, you will earn points that you can convert to cash rewards.

1 point is equivalent to approximately 17 cents of the Australian dollar.

Profile Surveys

In the survey tab, you will find some quick profile surveys about shopping, income, and employment. Each of these profiling surveys will give you only 1 point each.

Although it’s a small reward, important to complete these surveys to receive more survey opportunities that will match your profile.

Taking  Surveys 

Most surveys take 15 – 20 minutes to complete, but the are some that take only 5 minutes.

You can expect to earn anywhere between 6 and 18 points ($1 – $2) per survey, depending on its length.

Keep in mind that you may not qualify for every marketing study because companies just want information from specific demographics.

So, you can spend a lot of time answering qualification questions that won’t make you any money.

Even though you may get disqualified according to specific answers, I advise you always to provide honest answers.

Once you qualify, completing surveys is easy. All you have to do is share your opinions about a wide range of topics, including banking, electronics, games, beverages, etc.

Referral Program

Another way to collect points as a “Spider” is to invite your friends to join SpiderMetrix through your referral link.

For every 20-minute survey that they complete, you will earn 1 point.

It’s not a good deal because other survey sites pay commission for every survey your referrals take.

How Do You Get Paid?

You can cash out US$30 via PayPal once you have accumulated 300 points. 

If PayPal is not available in your country, you may request payments via eGift cards.

Conclusion

SpiderMetrix is a legit option if you want to complete surveys and earn some extra cash from the comfort of your home.

The panel receives a mix of positive and negative reviews on the internet.

Most people complain about the lack of surveys and the fact that it takes a long time to cash out.

Indeed, the minimum payout threshold is very high compared to many other reward sites.
