WalkMate Review – Earning Cash Or Malware? Be Careful!

freecash advert

Welcome to my WalkMate review!

Have you ever imagined earning money simply by walking? Yes, you heard that right – getting paid for each step you take.

It sounds too good to be true, but many applications try to convince users this is possible.

One of these apps is WalkMate!

I stumbled upon it just like you might have – through an eye-catching advertisement.

The ad showcased a scenario that’s hard to forget: a woman accidentally downloads WalkMate and, seemingly overnight, her life transforms.

She now drives luxury cars and stays at opulent 5-star hotels.

It’s the kind of rags-to-riches story that grabs your attention.

The video then nudges you towards downloading the app, promising earnings from walking and playing in-app games.

And the sweetener? The money goes straight to your PayPal account.

Now, if you’re like me, a little voice in your head is probably whispering, “Is this for real?”

As we all know, money doesn’t grow on trees, and there’s always a catch when something seems too good to be true.

So, you’re left wondering: Is WalkMate a legitimate opportunity to earn easy money, or is it a well-disguised scam?

WalkMate Review

  • Developer: WalkMate5

What is WalkMate?

WalkMate is a fitness app designed to motivate users by tracking their physical activity, but it’s not your typical step counter.

The developer claims to use advanced algorithms and sensors to provide accurate step counts.

It also shows the distance you’ve walked and the calories you’ve burned.

Remarkably, WalkMate has garnered over 10 million installations on the Play Store.

What’s catapulting this app into the spotlight is its irresistible offer: the chance to earn real money by simply walking.

This proposition has been a significant driver behind its widespread adoption.

But despite being advertised as a money-maker, the description doesn’t mention anything about cash rewards.

That’s a big red flag, folks!

How Does WalkMate Work?

Global Availability and Security Concerns

WalkMate attracts users worldwide with its accessibility and the promise of easy money.

The lack of app encryption presents significant security concerns that cannot be overlooked.

Encryption is vital for protecting personal information. Without it, you are exposed to data theft and unauthorized tracking risks.

This absence of basic security measures in WalkMate is a significant concern, making it vulnerable to digital threats.

The Malware Red Flag

The situation takes a more severe turn upon installation.

When I downloaded WalkMate on my Android device, my Norton antivirus immediately identified the presence of malware, advising me to uninstall the app.

walkmate malware notification

Malware, or malicious software, is designed to damage or exploit devices and networks.

It can lead to severe consequences like stealing sensitive data, damaging your device, and even identity theft.

The presence of malware in WalkMate is a huge warning sign, suggesting that the app could be used for harmful purposes.

False Claims and Real Risks

One of the biggest draws of WalkMate is its claim to reward users with real money for walking.

However, upon deeper examination, it becomes evident that this is a case of false advertising.

Many people didn’t pay close attention to the small print in the advert that said:

“Result is not guaranteed. The amount paid to you is subject to rules in the app. For illustration purposes only, no rewards are provided for ad play or completion.”

This tiny line is a huge giveaway. It’s basically admitting that the app doesn’t pay!

It doesn’t even feature a ‘cash out’ page, so there is no mechanism to earn or withdraw money.

Instead of being a revolutionary way to earn while exercising, WalkMate is a basic step tracker, using cash rewards as bait to attract users.

But it’s much worse than other fake cash apps I have reviewed in this blog.

If you don’t have robust antivirus protection, your phone and personal data could be severely compromised.

It’s a worrying trend that many recent apps, like WalkMate, come with hidden malware.

I strongly advise against downloading or using any app that poses such risks.

Lack of Transparency and User Feedback

Adding to these concerns, WalkMate is still in ‘early access’ on the Google Play Store.

This status means that users are unable to leave reviews or ratings.

As a result, new users miss out on valuable insights and experiences from those who have already used the app.

Conclusion

WalkMate is not what it promises to be, and I strongly discourage its use.

Its main attraction, the prospect of earning money simply by walking – is, unfortunately, a big lie.

The app fails to provide a genuine way to ‘cash out’ any earned rewards.

They are exploiting users’ expectations for financial gain.

The security concerns associated with WalkMate are even more alarming.

The absence of data encryption is a critical flaw.

In an era where digital security is paramount, this negligence exposes users to significant risks like data theft and privacy breaches.

Furthermore, the discovery of malware within the app is a serious red flag for our cybersecurity.

Such software can have devastating effects, including stealing sensitive information and damaging your device.

This risk alone is a compelling reason to avoid WalkMate at all costs!

Legit Alternatives

There are indeed some legitimate options if you’re looking to get paid for walking:

1. Winwalk Pedometer App: The app awards you coins for every step you take, and you can exchange them for gift cards from top retailers. While the earning potential is modest (1 coin per 100 steps with a daily limit), it’s a straightforward and legitimate way to earn small rewards. Read my full Winwalk review here!

2. LifeCoin App: LifeCoin tracks your outdoor steps, offering life coins that you can trade for various rewards. Users have reported some glitches, and the earning rate is relatively low, but it’s still a viable option for earning through physical activity. Read my LifeCoin review!

3. Macadam – Walk and Earn: Macadam converts your steps into coins for cash rewards. Earning enough for cash out takes time due to a high threshold, but it’s a legitimate option for those looking to monetize their steps. Read my Macadam review here!

4. Sweatcoin: Known for its user-friendly interface, Sweatcoin pays for outdoor steps in its digital currency, which you can exchange for various rewards. Like others, the earning potential is modest.

It’s essential to recognize that while these apps provide an innovative way to earn rewards, they are not designed to replace a full-time income.

If you want to make more money, try looking for other options beyond these apps. Building an online business is my top recommendation!

In the upcoming section, I’ll introduce you to a robust opportunity with the potential for greater earnings.

Earn a Full-Time Income Online

Have you ever thought about the freedom of working from your laptop, from any corner of the world?

That’s not something that only highly skilled people do – it’s a real possibility for anyone.

I’ve been there and made it happen without any special skills!

In 2015, I discovered a step-by-step training that helped me build an online business that fits my lifestyle and earns me passive income.

The beauty of this approach is that content stays online, continuously attracting visitors and potential income, even when you’re not actively working.

It’s about setting up a system that earns for you 24/7, offering the freedom to work at your own pace and on your own terms.

Whether in a cozy café or on a beach halfway across the world, your business runs and generates revenue for you.

Are you curious to learn how to set up this kind of freedom and success for yourself?
