What is Testing Time?

Testing Time is a usability testing platform that allows you to get paid for testing new products as well as taking part in surveys and focus groups.

Usability testing is beneficial for companies as it helps them identify core usability problems and provide insights to improve their products and services.

Your job is to follow the guided instructions and think out loud while using the product, site or app.

Different from other usability testing sites like What Users Do or Userlytics, Testing Time tests are handled via Skype or in-person.

Is Testing Time a Scam?

No, it isn’t. Testing Time is operated by a Swiss company called TestingTime AG and has a strong reputation in the industry. Some of their clients include Zalando, Trivago, UBS, and Doodle.

Therefore, you can rest assured that after you take part in a usability test with Testing Time, you will get paid for your time and effort.

Pros and Cons

  • Excellent pay rate.
  • Trustworthy company.
  • No qualification test required.
  • Paypal
  • No minimum cashout requirement.

  • The focus is on customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Therefore, most tests will be available for German speakers.
  • You can expect only 1 or 2 tests per week, which is not enough to earn a decent and reliable income.
  • You need to provide your phone number.
  • The testing is live, which can be intimidating for some people.

How to Become a Tester?

First of all, you have to sign up and complete a short profile questionnaire. Your profile will help companies select the right match for their specific studies.

Different from other usability testing companies, there is no qualification test. However, they will call you to confirm your interest and ask a few basic questions.

If your profile matches a test project, you will get an invitation via email. After that, you will have to select a time for testing that fits your schedule.

It’s important to note that there are limited spots for each test and jobs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, you have to accept the opportunity quickly.

There are tests conducted either via Skype or in-person with the client. If you accept a test via Skype, you should have a fast internet connection, a microphone, and a webcam installed.

Most sessions usually take about 30-90 minutes, and it’s important that you provide constructive feedback in a clear and loud voice.

Another key point is that there are no right or wrong answers, so you should not freak out when giving your feedback. All they want is your honest opinion and know how you interact with their products or services.

How Much Money Can You Make?

It depends on the type of test and its length. They say you can earn up to CHF 60 per hour, but I suppose that high payout is for focus groups that require you to participate on-site with the customer.

For usability testing via Skype, you should expect to earn less and comparable to what other similar companies pay. For example, Userlytics pay $10-$20 for 20-40 minutes of website testing.

In any case, the Testing Time will inform you about the payment before you do the test.

After the test, you will get paid within 5 – 10 days via your bank or PayPal account.

Final Thoughts

Testing Time is a legit website and an excellent opportunity to earn some extra cash online. I highly recommend it!

However, if you don’t live in a German-speaking country, you may find there are not as many opportunities. That’s because most of their customers are businesses located in German, Switzerland, and Austria.

If you live in an English-speaking country, you should try other usability testing site like User Testing, UserlyticsWhat Users Do, UserFeel, and TryMyUI.

Verdict: Legit – Recommended

How I Make $900+ Per Month From My Laptop

In 2015, I decided to work for myself, create my own online business, and achieve time and location freedom.

I have been working consistently with one of the best ways to make money online called affiliate marketing. I simply write informational blog posts and promote the best products that will help my audience. When people click on my affiliate links and purchase that product, I get a commission.

What I love about having my own internet business is the automation. So, after I write articles that rank on Google, my website gets visitors, and I make sales without having to handle customer service or order fulfillment.

All I do is direct people to the merchant’s website, and they will reward me for my marketing efforts. So, basically, I can make money at any time regardless of whether I am working or not. That is because my website is running 24/7 and the services that I promote are for sale worldwide.

If you want to learn more about this strategy and how to get started, I suggest you check out my #1 recommended program.

It’s a community platform with excellent step by step training, live training, 24/7 support, and all the tools you need to grow your affiliate business.

    1. Hi Jack, that’s right, TestingTime doesn’t have a login page for testers, which is weird. Check your emails and see if you have a link that will sign you up you directly. Or send them a message and ask how you can get access again.
      I hope this helps.

Hello, I would appreciate it if you let me know the web testing jobs for Spanish speakers, or available worldwide ( SouthAmerica).
    Many thanks

    1. Hi, you can try Checkealos and Uxline. User Testing also targets spanish speakers, but keep in mind there are fewer opportunities compared to English tests. I hope this helps!

      All the best
