In this review, I am going to explain precisely how Contentgather works and give you my honest opinion about it. Is it legit and worth it?

Contentgather is a platform that connects freelance writers and bloggers/companies in search of quality content for their sites, product descriptions, tutorials and more.
Different from most freelance sites, Cantentgather focuses on selling pre-written content, meaning you are free to write whatever and however you want.
The platform also has a “custom jobs” section where buyers request specific content requirements.
Who is it For?
You can join Contentgather if you are at least 16 years old, have an excellent command of the English language and writing skills.
The company gives preference to native English speakers, but you can join if you prove you’re a talented writer.

How Does Contentgather Work?
After registering for free, you can submit your first article straight away.
Each article will have to pass a strict screening process and rated according to spelling, grammar and content quality.
The reviewing process can take up to 24 hours, after which your article will be approved, rejected, or returned for edit.
Striving for an excellent article rating is very important as it will determine the price per word of your content and your overall reputation level in the marketplace.
There are currently five levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond) based on approval rating, content rating, transactions completed, and account age.
Bear in mind that submitting low quality (low rating) articles repeatedly may result in suspension.
Contentgather staff are very strict with grammar, so I advise you to scan your articles with online tools such as Grammarly and Hemingway.
To achieve the best possible ratings, I also highly recommend you read carefully the rules, suggestions and advice located on the submission page.
Among other requirements, your article should be 100% original and never used previously for other purposes.
The Pay Rate

Before submitting your article, you have to choose your pay rate. As a new member, your account will start with the bronze level, which means you can only charge $0.01, $0.02 and $0.03 per word.
As you increase your reputation level, you will be able to select higher pay rates up to $0.12 per word.
Keep in mind that your article will only be accepted if you choose the appropriate price based on the quality of your article (staff rating).
If you choose to get paid $0.03/word and the staff thinks that the price is not appropriate, your submission will be rejected.
It’s also important to mention that Contentgather will collect 20% of your asking price as a fee. For example, if you sell an article for $10, Contentgather will pay you $8.
How Much Money Can You Make With Contentgather?
It depends on these three factors:
1. How many articles you can sell
It’s likely that you will not sell every article, so the more you submit, the higher your chances.
The problem of using this platform is that you risk wasting a lot of time creating content that doesn’t sell.
I was reading some comments about Contentgather on the BeerMoneyForum, and one person said that he managed to sell two articles out of 10 that he submitted.
Therefore, you will probably earn a lower pay rate compared to content on demand sites like Upwork and Fiverr. That is because you have to take into account all the time and effort required to create all the articles that won’t sell.
Contentgather publishes all the sales history for the public on this page. There, you can see that the platform is selling lots of articles every day in different categories.
2. The article size
As you get paid per word, the longer the article is, the more money you will make.
However, expensive articles are usually more difficult to sell. So, in my opinion, it’s better to focus on short texts of 400 – 700 words.
3. Article Rating and Overall Reputation
The higher your article rating and overall reputation, the more money you can charge. You can earn from $0.01 to $0.12 per word.
Get Paid Before Your Sell
Contentgather allows silver writers to get paid a percentage of the article price before it sells. That’s a good perk for those who write high-quality content.
Custom Jobs
In the “custom jobs” section, you will find a list of jobs with specific requirements. Usually, the client will decide the topic, the number of words, and the overall reputation of the writer.
You can only claim custom jobs if you have at least one article submitted and approved. Once you claim it, you have a deadline of 8 hours to deliver.
Cash Out
You have to reach at least $5 to be eligible for payment. Once you submit your request, you will receive the money into your PayPay account within 24 hours.
Conclusion
Contentgather is an excellent marketplace both for writers and website owners who need quality content for their businesses.
I am still unsure whether this is the most profitable and efficient way to sell your content online or not. The reason is that you will put in the time and effort but there is no guarantee you will sell the article.
On the other hand, if you are a good writer, I believe you have more chances of making sales compared to other well-known freelance sites that are highly competitive.
Also, you are free to choose the subject and word count of your article, which is great if you are more knowledgeable about certain topics.
If you are a talented writer but you are still unknown in other popular freelance platforms, I think it’s worth giving Contentgather a try!
