Is SurveyTime Legit? Does it Pay $1 Instantly? [REVIEW]

SurveyTime is probably the only survey website that doesn’t keep you waiting for rewards!

But is it really a legit and trusted website? Will you get paid?

Well, there are some complaints about SurveyTime that I would like to address in this review. I will also show you the pros and cons and give you my honest opinion about it.

What is SurveyTime?

SurveyTime is a survey platform owned and operated by a mobile ad-tech company called Persona.ly.

It’s considered a router site because it directs you to different marketing research partners such as Cint, Ipsos, and Samplicio.us.

The website connects you with those leading market research companies so that you complete surveys in exchange for instant cash rewards.

What’s unique about SurveyTime is that you always get paid $1 instantly after you complete each survey. There is no need to wait for survey approvals or reach a minimum threshold.

For that reason, I think there is no other platform that pays so fast its members!

However, some people, including myself, haven’t been paid after sharing their opinions, which is quite frustrating. More about that later.

Who Is SurveyTime For?

Anyone over 18 years old can join SurveyTime and take surveys for cash. The platform is available worldwide, but there are not many surveys opportunities depending on your country.

Companies in the US, the UK, Canada and other wealthy countries have massive marketing research budgets. As a result, residents in these countries receive way more survey invitation compared to residents of developing nations.

Is SurveyTime Legit? Will You Get Paid? 

I can’t claim SurveyTime is an outright scam because I have no proof. However, many people report having issues with their accounts and payments.

I’ve completed two surveys but didn’t get paid as my phone number was rejected. It keeps saying I should try another phone number, which also didn’t work.

The website doesn’t have an easy contact form, so in order to submit a support request, you have to visit the Terms and Conditions and find an email link within a huge block of text.

It seems like they are trying to hinder communication with panellists. Their email is [email protected].

My first impression wasn’t good, and I hope the support team answers my email so I can get paid. I’ll keep you updated on that.

UPDATE: It’s been 2 months since I completed the two surveys and I still get the error. To make matters worse, the support team didn’t reply to my emails.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• Earn $1 instantly after completing each survey – You don’t need to wait for approvals nor reach any payout threshold.
• There is no complicated point system.
• It’s available worldwide.
• There are lots of survey opportunities in many countries.
• Get invitations via email, push notifications or SMS.
• Responsive design- take surveys on any mobile device as if you were using an app.
• Payments are processed via PayPal, Amazon gift cards, and more!

Cons

• There is no guarantee you will get paid because of errors.
• The minimalist interface lacks survey length estimation.
• According to Terms of Service, the company can terminate your account at any time and for any reason. Some people report their accounts were flagged while trying to cash out.
• You can waste a lot of time due to frequent survey disqualifications.
• Some panellists complain that SurveyTime doesn’t respond to their emails. I can relate to that!

How Does SurveyTime Work?

Registration

The registration is free and very straightforward. You have the choice to sign up with your Facebook, Google,  Tweeter or email account.

If you sign up with your email, you don’t need to choose a password as it will be automatically created and sent to your inbox. It’s very important that you click the confirmation link sent to your email to verify your SurveyTime account.

Profile Questionnaire

Your very first step is to answer 30 profile questions so that SurveyTime can find you the surveys that match your demographics and interests.

Different from most survey sites, the questionnaire is mandatory, which means won’t be able to proceed if you don’t answer them.

You won’t get rewarded after completing your profile, which is completely normal. Many survey panels and get-paid-to sites don’t reward users until they actually take part in a research study.

The questionnaire takes approximately 7 -10 minutes, and your answers will be collected anonymously. Some of these questions are regarding your age, gender, job position, household income, and education level.

Pay close attention and be truthful when answering because they may ask the same question several times to see if you are lying or not paying attention.

Also, SurveyTime will often ask repetitive questions and match your answers to spot contradictions. This is part of the usual quality check, which determines if you are an honest respondent.

If SurveyTime suspects you are not a reliable panellist, they will probably limit or even ban your account. So, it’s better to play it safe.

Survey Invitations

SurveyTime is completely different from other survey panels in that it doesn’t have a dashboard where you can update your profile. There is also no list of available surveys and cash balance as you don’t need one.

SurveyTime will invite you to participate in surveys that match your profile via email, SMS or internet browser. The email states the estimated duration and the number of members who have already taken part in the study.

Another simple way to get started is to visit the website surveytime.io. When you log in, you will see a welcome message with the saying “Good news! Our algorithm found a new survey for you. Take the survey and start earning now!”.

Then, click on the “start now” button to complete the survey.

If there are no surveys, you will see a page where you can enable browser and email notifications.

Unlike the survey invitations that you receive via email, the website doesn’t state the survey length estimation, which is a bummer. What if the survey takes half an hour? Would you complete that one for just $1?

By opening the email invitations, you will always know the average time of completion, and you can decide whether it’s worth answering the survey or not.

When you click on “Start Now”, the platform will automatically redirect you to the marketing research partner.

Taking Surveys 

Before you complete the paid survey, you must qualify by answering a few questions. Qualifications questions are crucial for marketing research because they allow companies to target a specific group of people based on their interests and demographics.

For example, let’s say SurveyTime needs the opinions of dog owners because the client is a dog clothing manufacturer looking for trends in the industry.

In that case, one of the qualifying questions might be: Which pet do you have?

All of the participants who answered anything but a dog would have been screened out.

Sometimes it’s very difficult to predict which answer may qualify or disqualify you because you never know what kind of survey awaits you. Nevertheless, it’s important to always tell the truth to keep consistency and avoid contradiction in future surveys.

If you don’t qualify in your first attempt, you will be redirected to another opportunity. You may keep trying until they have surveys available and you finally qualify.

Keep in mind that you won’t get paid until you qualify and complete the actual survey.

According to the FAQ, most surveys take around 10-15 minutes to complete, and you will ALWAYS get paid $1.

How Do You Get Paid?

SurveyTime stands out from other panels due to their instant payouts. There is no minimum payout threshold!

The company will always process your $1 reward right after you complete the survey.

Once you finish the survey, you have to select a payment method, which depends on your country.

For example, if you are a US resident, your redemption options are PayPal, Amazon, Target, Decathlon and even Coinbase. If you live in the UK, you can choose between PayPal and Amazon Gift Cards.

The next step is to provide your registered PayPal address and your phone number for verification.

According to the FAQ, the phone number is required to protect your reward and not necessarily for marketing calls or messages.

However, if don’t want to receive text messages, you should turn off SMS notifications.

Can You Complete Surveys on Your Mobile Device?

Although SurveyTime doesn’t have a mobile app, you can log in and complete surveys using your smartphone or tablet.

The site is mobile-friendly and has a responsive design that makes you feel you are running an app. I think it’s great because it doesn’t take up space on your device.

I haven’t received my payment yet

I have completed two surveys with two different companies called Cint and Ipsos. Each study took less than 10 minutes.

However, when I inserted my phone number to start the verification, there was an error, and they asked me to try again in 24 hours.

I tried after 24 hours and another time after 5 days, but the problem was still there. As the company didn’t send me an email to help me out, I guess I wasted my time.

User Reviews – Complaints

I had a look at many user reviews at both Trustpilot.com and SurveyPolice.com.

Most people seem to have a great experience with SurveyTime as they received their payments with no issues.

However, I could also find some complaints. Members report not receiving payments due to their accounts being flagged or their phone numbers being rejected.

This person also couldn’t verify his phone number and couldn’t cash out.

Regarding the phone issue, the company replied to someone in a forum saying they had fixed it. But I am still unable to verify my phone and get paid.

So, fingers crossed!

Does SurveyTime Respect Your Privacy?

SurveyTime claims that they are going to share non-identifiable information with third party marketing research companies so that they can invite you to surveys.

For example, they will share your age, gender, education, marital status, postal code, etc.

According to their Privacy Policy, they won’t share your name, email address and phone number.

When you are directed to a third-party provider, you may be asked to agree with their own privacy policies.

At this point forward, everything you share is not the responsibility of SurveyTime. In my opinion, you shouldn’t worry too much because your answers are usually presented in an aggregate form, and are not linked back to you in any way.

As of June 13, 2019, there is an option to opt-out of their email communications, but there isn’t a clear path to delete your personal information from their system.

I believe and hope that they take your privacy seriously and as required by law.

SurveyTime Alternatives

If you want to complete surveys, I highly recommend this great GPT site called Prizerebel. They have always paid me with no issues for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, Prizerebel doesn’t offer instant payments like SurveyTime.

For almost instant payment, you can check out the following websites:

• QuickRewards: Founded in 2002, this is probably is one of the few sites that pay with as little as 1 cent. QuickRewards only works in the US, the UK and Canada.
• Qmee: Qmee is available as an app or website. It allows you to complete paid surveys and cash out 1 cent as well.
• Offernation: This platform is also a GPT site where you can complete paid surveys. You only need $1 before you withdraw the money to your PayPal account. Therefore, you can get paid after the first or second survey.

Final Thoughts

SurveyTime is a legitimated survey platform that will send you lots of surveys invitations depending on your country. I really like the fact that it pays immediately after each survey. We all want immediate results!

I have to confess I was extremely excited to receive my first $1 in record time and show you a screenshot of my PayPal account.

Unfortunately, there was an error during the phone verification process as they didn’t accept my number. Other people had the same issues, so I hope they fix this problem once and for all.

I believe the main drawback of SurveyTime is that it can be very difficult to qualify!

Most surveys take less than 20 minutes, but sometimes you may have to spend over half an hour answering unpaid questions to qualify.

The problem with taking surveys is that you can waste a lot of time trying to qualify. They will keep redirecting you do different marketing research studies, and collecting free information from you.

I used to take surveys in the past, and I know it can be a very frustrating experience.

But…

On the other hand, it can help a lot of people going through a difficult financial situation whereby every penny counts.
