PopulusLive is a survey panel operated in the UK by a marketing research company called Populus. The company was founded in 2003 and has since then performed political, corporate, reputation and consumer research.

When you join PopulusLive, you have the opportunity to take part in online surveys and earn cash rewards in return for your participation. Furthermore, if you don’t qualify for a study, you will enter a monthly prize draw of £250.

What caught my attention was this big statement on the homepage:

 

 

Well, if you read the FAQ, you will discover this is the typical pay rate, so it doesn’t mean you will always earn £1 for every 5 minutes.

How Does PopulusLive Work?

Registration

The registration is free and straightforward. You just have to provide your name, email, gender, address and date of birth. Next, check your email inbox for their email and click on the confirmation link.

It’s essential that you complete your profile in order to increase your chances to receive survey invitations.

Click on “My account” and then on “My profile.” There, you will see two questionnaires named demographic and business.

Taking Surveys

PopulusLive will send you specific surveys based on your profile, but most of the times, you will also have to answer more questions qualify.

I signed up two days ago and still didn’t receive any survey invitation. On the internet, people are confirming that there are not many surveys and that it’s difficult to qualify.

As in most survey platforms, it’s not uncommon to disqualify after spending 2-5 minutes on pre-qualification questions. In my opinion, it is a very frustrating experience!

Bear in mind, your survey has to pass a quality control check to make sure your answers are logical and that you are spending the time necessary. Therefore, you should wait for its approval, which can take between 1 day to 3 months.

 

How Much Money Can You Make? 

Every time you complete a survey, you will earn 1 – 3 points each, depending on its length.

According to one testimonial, you can take 4 months to accumulate the minimum payment threshold of £50 and receive your cheque.

Therefore, if you really want to take surveys with PopulusLive, you should be patient and don’t give up in the process. Otherwise, it will be a complete waste of your time.

If you don’t qualify for a survey, you still get an entry for a monthly prize draw of £250, which always take place on the second Monday of the month.

 

Cashing Out

Once you earn 50 points or £50, PopulusLive will send you a cheque for £50 at the end of the month.

In my opinion, the minimum redemption is too high given the small number of surveys opportunities. I think they should lower that amount because many people will just give up along the way and not be able to cash out.

Another negative point is that PopulusLive doesn’t pay via Paypal or Gift Cards.

 

Final Thoughts

PopulusLive is a legit survey panel, but the earning speed is too slow as survey opportunities seem scarce. The fact that you have to wait until you reach £50 is also a drawback.

You can earn a few pounds here and there, but you may agree that this is not something that can change your life.
