Welcome to my Panel App review!

Today I came across Panel App, a popular mobile application that rewards users for taking quick surveys.

This app has been downloaded more than 1 Million times and rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on the Play Store.

Despite the high ratings, I have found lots of complaints that are impossible to ignore.

People seem to have a hard time earning any money with this App.

I was shocked to read that someone had the Panel App for over 2 years and didn’t make enough points to cash out $25.

So, is Panel App a scam or legit application? How much money can you expect to earn?

What is Panel App?

Panel App is a mobile application operated by Placed LLC, a leader in location analytics.

From what I can see on their corporate website, the company is focused on gathering and analysing the paths and behaviours of consumers.

By using Panel App, you will share your location and answer quick questions in exchange for points.

Once you reach the minimum payout threshold, you can redeem for Amazon gift card or MasterCard cash cards.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Get 100 sign up bonus (US$ 0.08).
Easy to use.

Cons

Very low pay compared to other survey panels.
There are not many surveys available.
The company can devaluate point value over time by increasing the minimum point requirement for a gift card.
The company can terminate your account at any time, and for any reason. In that case, you won’t get paid for your time, effort and all your valuable data provided.
It doesn’t pay via PayPal.
The app drains your battery considerably.

Installation and Registration

Panel App is available worldwide for both Android and iOS devices.

Visit getpanelapp.com and tap on the “App Store” or “Google Play” button to download and install the app.

Panel App will ask permission to gather your location, device data and phone number. If you don’t give access to your location, you will rarely get surveys.

Keep in mind that leaving the GPS running in the background will drain your battery considerably.

Before registering, I highly recommend reading their terms of service and privacy policy.

WARNING!

Firstly, Panel App will ask you a few questions about your age, gender, education etc.

However, you won’t be automatically registered after providing this basic information.

This means if you uninstall the app or change your phone, you will lose all your points.

Also, you won’t be able to redeem prizes without an account.

You can create an account by tapping on “Create” and them providing your email, password and country.

That’s it! Now you are ready to start collecting points.

Points Vs Rewards

Before anything else, it’s important to know the real value of your points, which depends on your country and cashout amount.

Here in the UK, you can redeem 2460 points for £1 Amazon Gift Card.

Reading some user reviews on the Play Store, I discovered U.S. residents could redeem 15K points for $25 two years ago.

Unfortunately, the requirement doubled, and now you need 30K to redeem $25.

So, currently, 100 points are equal to approximately 0.08 USD.

Panel App Surveys

According to the company, it can take up to 1 or 2 weeks before you start receiving survey invitations.

That’s a long time!

When you join a survey panel, you want to start making money immediately.

If you don’t get a survey right after registration, or at least on the same day, guess what?

You will start looking for other opportunities.

But anyway…

There are 2 types of surveys: Location-based and general.

Most surveys are location-based, meaning Panel App will only ask where you have been at a given day and time.

These surveys are quick and easy to complete!

Sometimes you will be invited to take part in lengthier surveys that pay more, but from what I can see, these are rare.

How Much Money Can You Earn With Panel App?

Unfortunately, Panel App is one of the lowest-paying apps that I have reviewed.

Most surveys will give you just 5 – 15 points, which can be exchanged for less than 1 cent!

From my research, it should probably take months to cash out $5, which is very discouraging!

This woman has had the Panel App for more than 2 years and couldn’t even earn enough point for a $25 gift card.

It’s disheartening that people spend months collecting points only to make 1 dollars worth.

There are many other platforms that pay more for your opinions!

If you want to complete more surveys and redeem faster, I highly recommend Prizerebel, which is my #1 rated GPT site.

With this website, you can complete 15-20 min surveys and earn $40 – $1.20 each. As the payout threshold is only $5, you can cash out within 1 or 2 days!

Referral Program

Another way to earn points is by referring a friend to the Panel App. You will get 10% of all the points your referral makes.

You can send an invitation through text, email or any social media platform.

In my opinion, earning 10% commission on Panel App is almost negligible.

I believe you’d have to refer tens of thousands of people to make a few bucks per month.

Complaints

If you check out the review section on the Play Store, pay close attention to the 1 – 3-star reviews.

Most people complain about the low pay rate and the fact that Panel App doubled the points needed to redeem for a gift card.

Another common complaint is the lack of surveys, which makes it even harder to accumulate enough points to cash out.

Also, some people complain that it takes a long time to receive a gift card.

Beware of hackers!

One user claimed that his Panel App account was hacked and all his points were redeemed for Amazon gift cards.

Conclusion – Is Panel App a Scam?

No. Panel App is not a scam, but the pay rate is very low and you may rarely get survey invitations.

Some people are taking more than 1 year to request a $25 gift card, which is insane!

Also, the company can increase the payout threshold and terminate your account for any reason and without notice.

Therefore, there are no guarantees you will get paid.

Final Verdict: Legit – Not Recommended

How I Make Money Online

In 2015, I was living paycheck after paycheck and decided to take online surveys to help with the bills.
