What is inCompass?

InCompass is a marketing research panel that rewards UK residents for sharing their opinions, behavior, hobbies, and demographics.

According to the company, all this information will be used to help shape the future of TV, Internet, radio, and music services.

On the FAQ, they say their clients won’t have access to your personal information, and all the information that identifies you will be deleted at the end of the research project.

InCompass is owned and operated by Ipsos MOURI UK Limited, which is part of the Ipsos worldwide group of market research companies.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Earn money passively every month.

Cons

  • Low-income potential.
  • Many people complain that the app drains the battery significantly and slows their device down.
  • It consumes around 20MB of data per day, which can be a problem if you rely on a limited data plan.
  • Some people report lack of compatibility with a microphone and other apps.

How Does inCompass Work?

You will have to install an app that allows Ipsos to see what you have been reading, watching, listening to and which sites and apps you are using.

In addition to giving the permission to monitoring your behavior, you can also take part in a 7-day diary

The diary is completed every day during this 7-day period and lasts for around 10 minutes each.

I tried registering through my PC but the website apparently just have the login and not the signup page.

Then, I installed the inCompass app via Google Play store, and even though the app is running in the background, they don’t give the opportunity for signing up either.

So, whatever the reason they are blocking new participants, I recommend uninstalling the app if you can’t sign up. That is because the app will keep using memory and data unnecessarily.

How Much Money Can You Make?

You will earn £20 in vouchers (Amazon or Marks & Spencer) after your first month and £10 per month afterward. That is just for keeping the inCompass app running on your device.

You will also earn £5 for completing the 7-day diary, which you should be invited typically 4 times in a year.

Complaints

The most common types of complaint that inCompass get are that the app slows down people’s devices and drains their battery quickly.

Another issue is that they are currently not accepting new signups. However, people were still able to download the app, which will keep consuming battery, data and collecting information.

I didn’t come across complaints about payments, though. So, if you eventually manage to sign up, and run the app according to the term and conditions, you should get paid without big issues.

Final Thoughts – Is InCompass a Scam?

InCompass is a legit panel that can help you earn some extra cash just for running an app on your smartphone or tablet.

Some people think it’s not worth joining because of the problems that they experienced on their devices.

Nevertheless, you can have a different experience, and if you don’t mind Ipsos monitoring your internet behavior, then you may want to join inCompass and get your £10/month.

Verdict: Legit
