iWriter Review – Is it Worth Joining?

freecash advert

iwriter reviewMany people consider freelance writing to supplement their income and even work full-time from home.

One of the best ways to get started is by joining freelance platforms as opportunities are open to anybody.

In this review, I’m going to cover all you need to know about iWriter and give you my honest opinion about it.

By the way, if you want to discover the same method that earns me over $1,000 per month online, check out my #1 recommendation.

iWriter Review

  • Name: iWriter
  • Website: www.iwriter.com
  • Price: Free
  • Type: Freelance writing
  • Overall Rating: 2.5/5

What is iWriter?

iWriter is a freelance platform that connects writers with potential clients who are ready to buy articles, blog posts, cover letters, press releases and even entire e-books.

The website claims that they have been creating more content online than any other writing service on the planet since 2011.

I think that is a bold statement considering iWriter is not featured among the top 10 or 15 freelancing platforms according to prominent blogs

Another statement that caught my attention was the one that says the client never pays a dime until h/s is 100% satisfied. That can be a problem as you will see later on.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • As long as freelancers are applying for jobs that match their level, they can choose any job available and start working.
  • Quick sign up process.
  • You can choose to get paid weekly or monthly via Paypal.

Cons

  • Clients can reject the work if they are not 100% satisfied.
  • Low pay rate.
  • There are not many standard jobs to help you walk your way up.
  • The fast-track program is quite expensive.
  • High star ratings don’t guarantee quality article.

How Does It Work?

The process of registering with iWriter and accepting your first job is very straightforward.

Once you are logged in, you will see a list of projects available, which are divided into four levels: standard, premium, elite, elite plus.

Everyone starts at the standard level and walk their way up according to the star rating and the minimum number of ratings.

For example, to go from standard to premium, you must have at least a 4-star rating and minimum of 30 reviews in your account.

The higher your level, the more you can earn per article. Below you can see the pay rates for each level:

elite premium standard

Before accepting any job, read the special instructions carefully.

It’s crucial that you do so because if you do anything wrong, the client can reject your work.

The best approach, in my opinion, is to give preference to clients that have a high approval rate, and of course, do your best to deserve a higher star rating.

The Fast Track Program

For a one-time fee of $197, you can apply for the iWriter fast-track programme. With this program, you can be promoted as premium or elite writer in just one day.

This reward platform is going viral! Cash out via PayPal, Visa, Gift Cards, and in-game currencies - Click here to find out how to generate an extra $10+ per day!

All you need to do is pay the fee and submit 3 articles based on specific keywords. If you get an average of between 4 and 4.6 stars, you will be promoted as a premium writer. Now, if you achieve higher than 4.6 stars, you will become an elite writer.

They will review those three articles in just one day and give you the results immediately.

As you are paying a high price for this consideration, it’s important that you have enough confidence in your writing skills. Otherwise, this program can be a complete waste of your time and money.

What Can Go Wrong?

I didn’t work as a freelancer for iWriter nor outsourced any work with them, but during my research, I identified some downsides.

Downside #1 – Lack of Standard jobs

The first thing that I identified was the incredibly reduced number of standard jobs compared to the higher levels.

There were just 2 standard jobs, compared to around 90 Elite and 120 Premium jobs. A few hours later those 2 jobs were gone!

That means people who are just starting out cannot find much work, sometimes not even one, unless they pay for the fast-track programme and pass.

Downside #2- Low pay

If you can get over 4-star ratings, it means you have excellent writing skills. However, and in my opinion, your time and effort are undervalued compared to other platforms.

Downside #3 – You can work for free

While doing my research, I found some members complaining about the fact that clients can reject your work for no valid reason.

According to the FAQ:

“You (the client) should never have to pay for in article you are not happy with. If you don’t like, you have the option to click reject and place it back into the queue of writers to write.”

That leaves the door open to abuse!

It can happen that dishonest clients can reject your article to avoid payment, keep a copy of it, and sell it on another platform for 100% profit.

It’s disheartening the feeling that a freelancer experience when h/s waste time and effort for absolutely nothing in return.

Downside #4 – High Star Rating Doesn’t Always Equal to Quality

If you are an honest client, paying for the Elite doesn’t guarantee you a better service compared to premium or standard.

From what I have read in forums on the internet, you can get poorly written and even plagiarized articles.

Yes, iWriter scan the articles to make sure they pass Copyscape, but that doesn’t guarantee uniqueness.

They can still use article spinners that will swap words for synonyms and bypass Copyscape.

The result is usually a weird article, with lots of grammatical mistakes that will make you waste your time to fix.

Not to mention Google’s algorithm is smart enough to identify spun content, and as a result, it won’t hesitate to penalize your article by ranking it nowhere to be found.

Payments

You must have earned a minimum of $20 to request a payment. The only method is via PayPal, and you can choose between 4 different time periods:

  • Every Tuesday
  • Every other Wednesday
  • Every month on the 5th.
  • Every month on the 25th.

Conclusion

We can’t argue that iWriter is a legit freelancing platform. However, I think the company should create better mechanisms to prevent abuse from both freelancers and clients.

Verdict: Legit

How I Prefer to Make Money Online

Personally, I am not a fan of freelance writing. One of the reasons is that the pay rate is not good enough for the time and effort required.

Another reason is that freelance writers must trade their time for money. Meaning if they are on holidays, or enjoying time with the family, they are not making any money.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to make money online is by creating affiliate sites that generate passive income.

You can start small, and little by little, create multiple streams of income.

How?

By writing content for your own website and promoting affiliate offers.

It takes time to attract a large audience to your site, I know. BUT you will be thrilled at every commission you make thanks to an article that you did months or years ago.

For example, I have a review article that I made 2 years ago and still earns me hundreds of dollars per month.

You see, having an affiliate site is like owning a piece of land. And every article you write is a brick that will be part of your real estate.

I started from scratch, with zero experience, but I achieved remarkable results thanks to a step-by-step program developed by Kyle and Carson.

These guys helped me go from $0 to $1,000 per month, so I highly recommend anyone to try their free starter membership.
