However, becoming a distributor, you should do proper research about the company, its products, and its compensation structure. That’s because several factors can influence your results and level of risk. Also, you should not trust any claims that you can earn thousands of dollars within the first month or two. 

In this brief review, I will focus on the important details so that you can make an informed decision. Is Zurvita a pyramid scheme or a legit company? Is it a viable business?

What is Zurvita?

Zurvita is a multi-level marketing company centered around the health and wellbeing niche. Founded in 2008 by Mark Jarvis, Tracy Jarvis, and Jay Shafer, Zurvita has a mission to empower individuals to control their health and happiness.

Their product line consists of nutrition, supplements, performance, and healthy weight. It’s important to note that Zurvita is backed by a scientific advisory board to ensure a high level of trust, transparency, and quality of their products.

Zurvita’s flagship product is Zeal, a highly nutritional drink mix that is proven to increase productivity and reduce stress.

Zurvita is an MLM (multi-level-marketing) company, which means you can earn commissions both from direct sales and from sales made by individuals you recruit to the organization.

Zurvita’s Compensation Plan

The Zurvita compensation plan is said to be unique in the industry. Different than many MLM companies, you are never required to buy products. 

Here are some key benefits of Zurvita’s compensation plan:

• Earn a 20% commission on your sales. 
• Get a 20% discount on Zurvita products for personal use.
• Earn a builder bonus (BB) when you sell a Starter pack to a new Zurvita consultant. 
• Earn 5% override on up to 8 levels depending on your rank. 

The amount of money you can earn as a consultant depends on your direct sales and the sales made by everyone in your organization. Therefore, the more people you recruit, the more money you can make. 

As with most MLM companies, Zurvita’s compensation plan is very intricate. If you want to know the full details, I suggest that you read the official document in pdf. 

Is Zurvita a Scam (Pyramid Scheme)?

Multi-level marketing is a controversial industry because sometimes, it’s difficult to draw the line between legit and fraudulent business practices. The FTC has taken down many companies as they were operating an illegal pyramid scheme disguised as MLM. 

A company is probably a pyramid scheme if the distributors make most of their income by recruiting others rather than selling products. Besides, they usually purchase lots of inventory to stay in business.

In a pyramid scheme, most distributors don’t earn enough money to cover the business’s expenses and end up with huge losses. The reality is that only the ones at the top of the pyramid make huge profits. 

Zurvita doesn’t seem like a pyramid scheme to me because they don’t require that you buy any product. Furthermore, the entrance fee is low, and you don’t need any recruits to make money.

Whether most of your income will come from the direct sales of products or from recruiting depends on your approach to the business.

However, only the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) can give you the final word on the legitimacy of Zurvita. 

Conclusion

Zurvita is most likely not a pyramid scheme, but you should think carefully before investing time and money into this type of business.

Unlike many MLM, Zurvita doesn’t show the success rate of their consultants based on different income levels. However, it’s safe to assume that more than 99% of people don’t earn a significant amount of money, let alone a full-time income.

The main problem with MLM is that products are usually overpriced and, therefore, difficult to sell. That is because of the multi-level compensation structure.

I found a comment on Reddit asking for a natural alternative to Zeal for life, as the person was not willing to pay over $90 per month anymore.

Consultants get a copy of the Zurvita website (affiliate link), but they don’t get proper training on how to get traffic. As a result, they struggle because they find themselves trying to sell just within their social bubble. It’s not effective, and it can be very frustrating!
