The app tantalizingly claims that users can apply to multiple jobs simultaneously, connecting with potential employers via chat.
At first glance, it seems like the ultimate gateway to seamless employment opportunities.
The advertising campaign casts an impression of having exclusive access to high-paying jobs.
It almost feels like you are on the verge of stumbling upon a gold mine, regardless of your skill set and prior experiences.

That was the picture painted in my mind, at least. The lack of small print in their adverts might lead many prospective users to believe they can easily pocket the advertised $600 per week.
However, there’s a hitch in this seemingly perfect plan – the Chronicle app is still classified as “Early Access.”
In the Play Store, “Early Access” means that the application is still in its developmental phase.
Although it’s available for public download, it might not have a full range of features active yet.
This also entails that users cannot leave reviews on the app to learn from actual user experiences.
How Does Chronicle Work?
Chronicle is a free app, easily downloadable on the Play Store for any Android device.
At first glance, it’s your shiny new ticket to the job market and the opportunity to provide for your family.
The app doesn’t require registration, making it accessible to anyone willing to give it a go.
Privacy Concerns
A crucial point to note is that Chronicle doesn’t encrypt your data, nor does it allow users to delete their personal data.
This lack of basic security measures raises serious privacy concerns.
Your personal data is valuable and can fall into the wrong hands when it’s not secured correctly.
Unsecured, it can fall prey to cyber threats, even identity theft!
You should remember this before providing any information during the job application process.
Exploring Chronicle
Upon launching the app, it immediately lists recent job opportunities.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to filter these jobs based on your skills or experiences.
Besides, the number of vacancies is incredibly small compared to job-search giants like Indeed or Reed.
In the UK, there were just 13 job offers, including store assistants, police detectives, packing operators, and waiting staff.
Each job listing provides the location and salary, which aligns with real-world offerings and could surpass $600 per week.
However, these salaries are not exclusive to Chronicle; they reflect what you might find on any other job site.
It’s just that Chronicle’s marketing overhype thing to make it very appealing!
You’ll get the job description if you tap on a job offer.
Interestingly, you’ll see a note stating that the post was published by a platform user, not an official source.
This raises another big red flag – the job listings’ authenticity is questionable!
When you decide to apply for a job, you’re prompted to fill in a form titled “my resume.” Here is a screenshot:
This form asks for personal details like your name, gender, phone number, email, previous job, monthly income, and address.
It differs from other platforms, where you could typically upload a CV and cover letter, providing a comprehensive view of your work history and skills.
In Chronicle’s case, you’re only allowed to enter one previous job, which appears unprofessional and overly simplistic.
The Application Process – FAKE?
As a test, I entered random information and hit ‘apply.’
The response? “Successfully sent.”
There are no follow-ups from the platform!
This lack of feedback casts serious doubts on the legitimacy of the job postings and the platform itself.
It feels more like an information harvesting tool, where the developer is more interested in gathering your details than providing a genuine job search service.
Now, you might wonder how someone could profit from your data.
Well, information is a valuable currency in the digital age!
It can be used for targeted advertising, sold to third parties, or used for fraudulent activities in a worst-case scenario.
And with no data encryption provided by Chronicle, your data is left exposed to these risks.
Intriguingly, the Chronicle app doesn’t feature any advertising.
This begs the question: how is the developer generating revenue?
The logical assumption is that they could be profiting from the data they’re collecting.
Conclusion
Chronicle isn’t quite the dream job provider it paints itself to be.
The illusion of an easy road to high-paying jobs may sound tempting, but remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The truth is, Chronicle seems to be nothing more than a list of job vacancies that may not even be real openings.
Therefore, those job applications might just be going into a black hole, never to be seen by any employer.

So, despite the hype, it might be wise to pass on this one.
Keep your data secure, safeguard your identity, and remember there’s no magical shortcut to landing that perfect job.
It takes time, effort, and, yes, lots of applications, but don’t let an app potentially exploit your information for profit.
