BrainMax Review: Is it Fake? You Cannot Cash out Every 3 hrs!
Welcome to my BrainMax Review!
BrainMax has been downloaded over 50,000 times on the Google Play Store, and its logo makes an interesting promise: “Cash out every three hours.” The app description also claims that you can sharpen your memory and focus with brain-training games while earning real cash rewards every day.
But does BrainMax actually pay you, or is it another game that makes you watch endless advertisements for very little money? I downloaded the app and tested it to see what you can expect.
What Is BrainMax?
When you first open BrainMax, you’re greeted with the promise of winning real cash rewards. The app offers a collection of simple puzzle and brain-training games, including block puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, connection games, Flow-style puzzles, matching games, and Sudoku.
Want to Get Paid for Playing Games on Your Phone?
I tested and compared the best reward apps and sites, so you don't waste time on the fake ones. See which ones actually pay, how low the cash-out minimums go, and which offers are worth your time.
- ✅ Low cash-outs, some from just $1
- ✅ PayPal, gift cards and more
- ✅ Games, surveys and simple tasks
- ✅ Honest tips to avoid tracking problems
Earnings aren't guaranteed and results vary. Treat it as a bonus for time you already spend on your phone.
Some of these games are similar to familiar titles already available on the Play Store. For example, one of the matching games reminded me of Water Sort, except that you sort colourful balls instead of coloured water.
The idea is straightforward: play games, collect coins, and eventually exchange those coins for cash. These puzzles may provide some entertainment and encourage you to think about memory, logic, strategy, and concentration. However, the real question is whether the cash rewards make the experience worthwhile.
The Biggest Problem: Too Many Advertisements
Unfortunately, the advertising quickly became one of the most frustrating parts of my experience.
While playing, I was repeatedly interrupted by video advertisements. Some of them lasted more than a minute, and I couldn’t skip them. Instead of enjoying a puzzle game, I often found myself waiting for an advertisement to finish before I could continue.
That can make the whole experience irritating, particularly when you’re trying to complete a game and make progress towards a withdrawal.
I’m also concerned about the types of advertisements that appeared during my test. Some promoted other apps using claims about earning thousands of dollars. These sorts of promises can be misleading, especially when an advertisement gives people the impression that making substantial amounts of money through a simple mobile game is easy.
I can’t establish from my test whether every advertised app is dishonest, but I would prefer to see much better scrutiny of the promotions shown to users. An advertisement appearing inside BrainMax should not automatically be treated as evidence that another app is trustworthy.
If you’re downloading BrainMax to relax with a few puzzles, frequent, lengthy, unskippable advertisements could seriously interfere with your enjoyment.
How Much Money Can You Actually Earn?
BrainMax rewards players with coins as they complete games. However, I couldn’t identify a clear, consistent rule explaining exactly how much playing time would earn you a particular number of coins.
During my test, I played for a while and received a notification saying I had earned 58 coins. That sounds like progress, but the important question is how much those coins are worth.
According to the app’s displayed conversion rate, 3,000 coins can be exchanged for $0.30.
Let’s put that into perspective:
| Coins | Displayed cash equivalent |
| 58 coins | About $0.0058 |
| 1,000 coins | $0.10 |
| 3,000 coins | $0.30 |
These figures are calculated using the app’s stated conversion rate, rather than representing money I personally received.
At that rate, the rewards are extremely small. You need to accumulate 3,000 coins just to reach the minimum withdrawal threshold of 30 cents. Without a predictable earning rate, it’s difficult to estimate how long that will take, but don’t expect to build up a meaningful amount of money quickly.
More importantly, reaching the minimum threshold doesn’t guarantee that a withdrawal will be approved or that the money will arrive in your PayPal account.
Does BrainMax Really Pay Through PayPal?
This is the question that matters most, and I wouldn’t want to give you a misleading answer.
The logo’s promise of cashing out every three hours might sound reassuring, particularly because similar wording appears in the marketing of other reward apps. However, that claim doesn’t necessarily mean you can withdraw money every three hours regardless of your balance.
In my test, I found that you had to accumulate at least 3,000 coins before reaching the stated minimum cashout amount. That is an important distinction: the app’s logo creates an expectation of frequent withdrawals, but you still have to earn enough coins first.
I wasn’t able to verify a successful PayPal payment from BrainMax during my test. Therefore, I can’t honestly tell you that it reliably pays, but I also can’t conclude that nobody has ever received a payment.
My recommendation is to treat its earning claims with caution. Don’t assume that the balance displayed inside the game represents money you can definitely withdraw, and don’t spend hours playing solely because you expect to receive cash.
Should You Pay for a Subscription to Remove Ads?
BrainMax also offers paid subscriptions intended to remove banner and interstitial advertisements. During my test, the displayed prices were:
- Weekly: £3.59
- Monthly: £10.49
- Annually: £26.49
These prices can change, so check the current terms before subscribing.
Personally, I wouldn’t recommend paying for any of these subscriptions if your main reason for using BrainMax is to make money.
Think about the economics. The app displays a cash conversion rate of $0.30 for every 3,000 coins, while the monthly subscription costs £10.49. You would need to earn a substantial amount of cash just to recover that subscription cost, and the app doesn’t provide a sufficiently clear or predictable earning rate to make that a sensible gamble.
Removing advertisements might make the games more enjoyable, but that doesn’t automatically make the subscription worthwhile. If your goal is to earn money, paying a recurring fee to access a reward app is particularly difficult to justify when its payouts haven’t been independently verified through my test.
I would avoid purchasing a subscription simply in the hope of earning the money back through gameplay.
Is BrainMax Worth Downloading?
BrainMax could be worth considering if you genuinely enjoy simple puzzle games and are happy to play them purely for entertainment. You shouldn’t need to think of the rewards as an important part of the experience.
However, if you’re looking for a reliable way to earn extra money through PayPal, I would be much more cautious.
The rewards are tiny, the earning rate isn’t sufficiently transparent, and the advertisements are frequent, lengthy, and sometimes difficult to skip. The promise of cashing out every three hours also needs to be understood alongside the minimum withdrawal requirement.
Most importantly, I couldn’t verify reliable payments during my test. That doesn’t prove the app never pays, but there isn’t enough evidence from my experience to recommend it as an income source.
Final Verdict
I wouldn’t recommend BrainMax as a money-making app. The puzzle games may be entertaining, but the combination of very low advertised rewards, intrusive advertisements, and unverified payouts makes it difficult to justify the time involved.
If you decide to try it, stick to the free version, never pay for a subscription expecting to recover the cost through rewards, and keep your expectations realistic.
Ultimately, BrainMax might give you a few puzzles to solve, but I wouldn’t count on it to provide reliable extra income.
